I need to buy a new digital camera. I was wondering if I could have input from you bloggers because there are so many choices, and I am not camera savvy. I just know I want something that fits in my pocket, and is easy to transport.
Now everyone knows why it has taken me so long to post anything! I finally started using Susie's camera until I buy a new one.

Talk to Eric. They have a small one that fits in Aprils purse that is really nice. Hope this helped.

Are you thinking a point and shoot or a DSLR? I have a Nikon D80 DSLR that I love but if you are looking for something to just slip in a pocket there are lots I don't know about. Happy hunting.
mine is small, but still has manual features, if you like to play with photography... it is the kodak z1012. I love it, but I have always liked Kodak cameras. It fits in my purse except for the lense additions you can get and it is 10 mega pixel with 12x zoom. Good luck. BTW the stamps of the month you are missing are in the mail to me from corp and then they will be off to you. I asked the computer guy at CTMH why it wasn't adding it to my website orders, but he doesn't have an answer yet. Did you get your blocks from me yet? Sorry this order has been such a headache!
I tried one I could slip in my pocket and wasn't happy with some of the features so I went with a highly reviewed Fujifilm Finepix S700. I've been really happy with it and it doesn't cost as much as lots of others. 10X zoom and 7.1 mega pixels. Won't fit in a pocket though...sorry!
You must keep the photos coming though...those boys are too precious to miss out on a thing! :)
We have a Canon (I don't know the number right now) that is small and Tim takes to the job site with him. It takes great pictures.
We also have another Canon in a little newer and a little larger version. I love it.
Jocelyn has a Canon a little nicer than ours and it's great too. So I think Canon is a really good camera. It takes a real long video that is very easy to download.
The size that Jocelyn and I use is small enough to put in a coat pocket, barely.
None of us have had any problems with the mechanics of the Canon other than Jocelyn. I think that Sprite dumped all over a camera will make the buttons stick on any brand though! :)
Go Canon! :) If you're intersted I can get the exact model but if you go to any of the "discount" stores they'll have the latest in the Canon. I think we bought ours from Walmart for about $300+ a few years ago. Myrna
Hi Kate, I've been enjoying your blog for a while. Love the WY pictures and your cute little boys.
I vote for Canon, too. I did a little poll before I purchased mine last Dec., and heard lots of good things about the Canons. Mine is a PowerShot A570IS. (It will fit is some pockets!)
Let us know what you decide, okay?!
Hello Chris & Katty.

We had a Canon PowerShot S230 Digital Elph. It takes good photos, but I wasn't able to zoom in as close as I wanted. My Jonathan got to the age where he would be playing outside and I'd see him doing something I wanted to capture, but I had to go outside and walk halfway to him, which would make him quit what he was doing. SO! About 2 years ago, we bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1A 5MP. We love it! It's about 4.5 inches long, 2.25 inches tall, and 1.5 inches "thick". In it's case, (we have a semi-rigid case) it's about a half inch bigger all the way around. It fits in a coat pocket easily, but not a skirt or jeans pocket.
The thing I love about it is it's zoom. Now I can stand in the doorway and catch my kiddos doing the things they do in the yard, whatever their imagination led them to, and they don't even know I am taking their picture or movie. You can make subjects appear closer with the 10x optical zoom. And (I just discovered this today when I looked in the operating manual!!) an extended optical zoom and digital zoom to a maximum of 50x zoom! I went to the window and pointed the camera at a neighboring home. It is approximately 200 yards away. 10x brought the house close enough that it filled the viewfinder. The extended optical zoom brought the house so close all I could see was logs! No sky, no roof, just logs. I was amazed. Now that's a little more zoom than I need for the yard, mind you, but cool. We paid $272 including the case thru Amazon.
Anyways, fun to catch up on your blog and good luck camera hunting!
