Rounded Corner Photo of my boys

What has Mom been up to? 31/52

Forever In Blue Jeans

I helped Chris tag some cows this past week.

I thought this photo captured that morning.

I went shopping this past Saturday without the boys. Dad was happy to keep them! It was so fun, and I found these cool white leaves for decoration. I am going to stick them in the hallway on the wall leading into my Spring bathroom. Any ideas on how to stick them to the wall? I thought they had a Pottery Barn feel but for only $7.00. They are actually plates, but I think I can make them work on the wall.

My Spring Bathroom is coming along. We finally bought some mirrors to match the theme. I love the color combination of green, white and a splash of purple. It really is stunning. I can't wait to put our white trim up with the doors. I am going to add purple and white towels with a towel rack too!

We are still here!

Fish wanted to be like Daddy. I guess Daddy drinks soda alot while talking on his cell phone. :)
The can was not OPEN.

Again the cans were not open...the boys were just pretending. Also notice the play doh on the counter, and gold fish on the tile floor. This picture is a good representation of our everyday life.

Reading Roxaboxen with G'ma Wendy...

We've started a new tradition on Sunday evenings. My mom dearly misses my boys, and distance makes it hard for us to see each other. So she just reads to my boys from Texas over the phone. We have lots of the same books. It was a special time. We look forward to repeating it this coming Sunday!

Forever In Blue Jeans

I just finished this for the book I'm making to send to Shutterfly last night. Dad was hunting, and G'ma was spending time with the boys. Ahhh the perfect time to QUIETLY scrapbook. :) Where did the week go? Can you believe it is already Thursday again???

A quote I don't want to forget!

"Mom I need a lot of bubbles so I can be healthy and free." Fischer 10/3/09

This was said while I was dumping bubbles into a bath for the boys. They love lots of bubbles. :)

Today I'm thankful for...

I'm trying to challenge myself to find 3 things everyday to be thankful for...it seems that too often my human response is to dwell on the things in my life that are not so great!

So today I am thankful for naptime. (I need it as much as my boys do.)
I'm thankful for lovely, soft snowflakes falling outside my window.
I'm thankful for another day to learn about dying to self...to my first born nature.

This float trip seems like ages ago. Today it is snowy and cold! I can't believe that it is already October.

Imperfect

I've been thinking lately about how I want to tell our story.
When I scrapbook I try to represent our life.
Usually I scrapbook about the good things that happen in my life, our lives.
But I want to represent the imperfect parts too.
My every day life is made up of lots of imperfect moments, lots of imperfect reactions...lots of imperfection!
Also even when I scrapbook I sometimes want to find the perfect embellishment or piece of paper.
Really what matters the most to me are the imperfect photos with the imperfect story told by me.
I'm not a professional photographer (YET :)). I'm not a professinal writer.
But sometimes just honestly, imperfectly telling my story strikes a chord with people. I don't think most people expect perfection. So why do I expect to make a perfect brilliant story? Sometimes I definately do not feel brilliant...or witty. Sometimes I'm tired and the words simply do not flow.
Still I want to tell my story...
And so here are a few imperfect pictures taken with bad lighting...still they strike a chord with me!
I love them because they represent the funny, the snuggly, the messy, the broken parts of my everyday life.
