HAPPY 2007!

We are going to bed at about 8:30PM on New Year's Eve! I guess that is what happens when your baby has a cold. But we hope everyone has a lovely New Year!

Thank You

Dear Jeff, Lisa, Clayton, Allison and Larkin thank you for the first birthday gift!

A little Frog!

Fischer loves his frog towel. Thank you G'ma Susie!

Fischer's New Game!

Fischer's favorite game is to stick his tongue out... and then wait in expectation for you to stick yours out! It is a pretty fun game...I know I've played it ALOT.

Uncle James is here!

I took a picture of the guys yesterday morning right before they left to go riding. In the first picture, the guys decided to make model faces. In the second picture, Chris is making his usual picture face!
We have so much snow right now that Chris and James spent most of the day digging up snow. Chris has been stuck twice now since Thursday!

Thank You to Everyone!

Thank you to G'pa and G'ma Terry for the lovely meals and hospitality... we will be back as soon as we can!
Thank you to Aunt Emily, Uncle James, Uncle Micheal and Aunt Meagan for the nice gifts and playtime with Fischer. It was definately a memorable trip.
I also wanted to include a thank you to G'ma Joyce, Aunt Sharon and G'ma Evelyn for their nice gifts as well. We really appreciate it!

Family Time

I thought everyone would enjoy the warm weather pictures!
On Saturday we threw a birthday party for Chris and Fischer. We decided to celebrate Fischer's first birthday early...since my family will not be able to come to his birthday party at home!
We are having lots of fun and making lots of memories...I will post more pictures later.

Going Home for Christmas!

My family at our wedding in August 2004!

We are heading to my folks on Thursday of this coming week! I am so excited to see them. I haven't been back home since May 2006 and Chris hasn't been there for two years. My whole family will be there so it is shaping up to be a wonderful visit. My brother James has never seen Fischer...so every time I talk to him he mentions how excited he is to finally meet Fischer!

My Grandpa Terry passed away on December 3, 2006 so it will be nice to visit with my Dad. I was so sad not to be at his funeral, but it was a ways away. I am disappointed that G'pa was never able to meet Chris or Fischer. Grandpa Terry had the same name as Fischer's middle name. I remember how touched he was that they were the same...Lee! He always mentioned that to me when we talked on the phone.

I will post lots of pictures of our trip!

Some more pictures of the Log House...

It was a snowy day when I took these pictures. It was sure nice for the guys to be working inside. The first picture is of the loft. The second picture is of Chris and Fischer. The third picture shows the Aspen tongue and groove that you will see from the main floor. It is the roof for the loft. The last picture shows the framing for the bathroom right off of the mudroom. The house is getting closer to being done!

Fischer can scoot and sit up!

I love Dana's idea of keeping track of milestones...so I am going to copy! Fischer is now sitting up by himself and shoulder scooting...it is not quite crawling, but something like it. He puts all of his weight on one shoulder and then scoots his feet along until he can reach the newspaper. That has become one of his favorite "toys." He loves to tear/crinkle/eat it. I try to keep him from eating it, but a few pieces did go down. He is almost 11 months! But adjusted age he would be more like 7/8 months.

The first picture is of him with Ralna! We sure enjoyed having Nate and Ralna and Owen and Kristi here last weekend. They were such a big help and such wonderful company.

I took the second picture on Tuesday night. I just loved how he was sticking his little hand right on his check while he was sleeping. The last picture was taken right when we got home after his surgery! You can tell he is still feeling a little groggy.

Saying something nice about my husband!

I read this article the other day about how easy it is to gripe about things that are going on in a persons life. I have now made a promise to myself that I am going to try and not gripe so much and say as many nice things as possible!
So I am going to start with my husband...I gripe at him sometime...he might say a lot...but I do dearly love him.

I am lucky to have such a wonderful, hard working, and funny partner! He really is my best friend.

So even if he walks right over the trash bag that needs to be taken out...I still dearly love him... and will continue to pick his clothes up and put them in the laundry basket! ha

A little note for Shane and Ivey

We hope that you two are staying busy and enjoying yourselves. It looks like it from the pictures your mom sends! We hope to see you guys soon.
Love, Chris, Kate and Fischer

Love, Chris, Kate and Fischer

Fischer's Surgery

I haven't been blogging lately because Fischer had to have surgery on Thursday. It was a pretty traumatic experience for all of us, but he has recovered really well. I had to stop feeding him at 2:30AM on Wednesday night...even breast milk. Then we went to the hospital about 6:15AM and prepared him for surgery. We had to put his "surgery" pajamas on! I about lost it then. We then had to wait until his doctor came and talked to us. They gave me a bunch of papers to sign...some of them were pretty scary...telling a person all the things that could possibly go wrong. Then Chris and I walked him back to "the red line." I didn't want to give him up...he was still awake. I felt like a mama bear with her baby cub, but all of the nurses were really kind and supportive.
Chris and I silently walked back to the waiting room and then WAITED. I cried some in the waiting room and finally found a Better Homes and Gardens magazine to leaf through. The waiting was the hardest part. Luckily, the nurses came and filled us in every once in awhile. When we finally were able to see him...he looked so vulnerable. He had a little tan hat on his head and was so pale. The nurses told me that they have to wrap both of their legs with gauze and their arms to keep them warm during surgery...so they look like little mummies.
I was able to FINALLY hold him. He kept making little noises in his sleep.. the drugs kept him asleep for awhile. But Fischer wanted to eat right when he woke up. So that made me feel better!!!
We stayed at the hospital until about 5PM and then were able to come home. It was so nice to just come home and sleep in our own bed.
He is now doing great and we are so thankful that it went so well!

Static Electricity

Our little puppy dog!

Flu Bug!

I haven't had the flu in so long, but our whole family came down with it. It was a pretty miserable time for a couple of days, but now we are all healthy. We just drank lots of gatorade and ate chicken noodle soup. I also scrubbed my entire house with clorox! So hopefully we are past anymore sickness for this year.
That is why I haven't posted any pictures in awhile. Here are a few from the past couple of weeks...we had a lovely Thanksgiving with lots of family here! As you can see....

Dad and Fischer in front of our new wood stove! We put it in on Wednesday, November 15, 2006.

Fischer wore wranglers for the first time last night....notice we had to roll them up a little! We sure LOVE our wrangler baby.

Fischer is all dressed up in his winter suit. We can hardly believe that he is ten months old!

We have started calling him SILLY BUDDY after his favorite stuffed animal. It is a little puppy named silly buddy! Thanks G'ma Terry for such a nice toy!

Fischer in his exersaucer and playing with his kouvalias! He has learned to sit up, but he prefers to just roll around everywhere. I HAVE to child proof my house now. The other day I left him in the livingroom for a little bit while I was in the kitchen. I came back to check on him, and he had rolled across the livingroom and was banging his head against the exersaucer...trying to roll over that I suppose!

Dad playing the harmonica...

Using our pinchers...

We finished the windows on Thursday, November 9, 2006!
And then it stormed that afternoon...perfect timing!!!!
