Here's what is happening...

Today the guys moved the heifers home! It is calving time again...we haven't had a baby yet, but I will post a picture once we do.

Yesterday, we decided to stop on our way over to Owen and Kristi's for a pregnancy shot. I am 13 weeks now!

Tim and Duane so kindly brought our cabinets. Clark and Chris have been busy working on cabinets all week. I decided on black nobs. What do you guys think!?! I am going to put black appliances in too. I think it will look good, but would love any imput.

This is the view from the loft. George has installed most of the lights in the house with Chris's help. We had an electrician come out for two days this past week to help with the more complicated stuff, but so far George and Chris have done most of it.

Chris is has been laying the tile in the utility bathroom! As in Michelle's blog, this is an act of a GOOD HUSBAND! It means that we are closer to being able to order a washer and dryer. It is very thoughtful of him to try and get this done before calving starts. That way I don't have to haul our laundry so far.

OK the view from the loft look more like a masterpiece of artwork in that photo not just a window. What a fabulous view!

Kitchen also looks fabulous as well as the tile. I think black appliances will look great with all the wood.

Ugh, hope for warm and short nights of calving!

Hi Kate!
I think the black knobs look good. I, personally, am a fan of black appliances. Dad & Mom had them in their house in CO and I really liked them. The house is really shaping up...can't wait to see it! Last time we were there you were still peeling logs! See you this weekend hopefully...I can't wait!

Hi Kate!!

Wonderful news about the babe on the way! :) Can't wait! I'm sure Fischer won't know what to do with himself once he has a bro or sis. :)

And the house...looks awesome! I think that black appliances would look good in there. The ONLY thing that I would be curious about is if it would make the room too dark. I know that wood really absorbs light (at least it does in my parents house -- they have wood floors and ceilings) and it really changed the lighting when they put those in. Maybe it won't make a difference, though. Either way, I think it will look great! :) Can't wait to come and visit!

This is fun to have some imput from you ladies!
Lisa,
You will have to come and visit us after we are done with the house. That invite is open to everyone else too. I cannot wait to have company. We are going to try and finish up after calving. So this summer sometime (before the baby comes hopefully)...which is better anyway for traveling!!!
Ralna, thanks for the sweet comment and I'm glad you like the nobs!
Shelly,
The view from the loft is one of my favorites. That is one of the reasons we chose this spot for the house. And the black appliances are my favorite with the wood too!
Renee,
Thanks for the nice comment and we CAN'T wait to have you come and stay!
Jocelyn,
Craig and Chris talked last night! I cannot wait to see you guys. The house has changed lots since you guys last saw it. Also I'm glad you prefer black appliances too.
Jen,
I really appreciate your comment. I have heard that black can really make a room feel dark. So to help that we are putting lots of lights in the kitchen! We are even putting some underneath the top cabinets. That should really help. I also have two big windows that should help with light! And cannot wait to have you come and visit!!!

Your home is looking great! Black appliances are sharp but can easily make a room too dark, like Jen said. I love our log home, but I am glad for some sheetrocked walls. They brighten the rooms, which I need. Having the two big windows in your kitchen will help tremendously. Black does look good with wood cabinets. Have fun!

Hey Morg,
We cannot wait until you guys post some pics of your new place with you cowboyin!
Hey Darla,
Thanks for the imput! We were told from the beginning that drywall is nice to have to off set the logs. So we put as much in as we could. And I'm glad we were able to put the big windows in the kitchen too. We are finding out just how much more it takes to light a log house!!!

Great pictures... love the house and how it is coming along... You look great too Kate! Exciting times...
The only thing about black appliances (we have them in this house) is that they show every speck of anything including dust... they look good though.

Hey Dana,
Thanks for the info! I buy those microfiber rags and they really seem to help keep things clean!!!

It sure looks mighty chilly out there in those high wind swept plains. Makes me miss you. Hope you can come and take a siesta in the 80 degree weather we'll be having in a couple of weeks. I am planting petunias this weekend, and giving all the bushes and trees some nutrients for spring.I sure miss you all. Love Grandma
